Man Bites Dogs Ear To Establish Dominance

A man who beat his dog told the police that he bit his dog on the ear to establish dominance

On Thursday, M<ay 10th, 27-year-old Patrick Shurod Campbell of Lake Worth, Florida was arrested after he beat his dog bloody and bit his ear to assert dominance on the canine.

At approximately 1 am, the police received a 911 call from Campbell's neighbors reporting to have heard “slamming noises” coming from his apartment on Windswept Drive. 

Arrest reported detailed that when the police were dispatched to Campbell's home, his roommates alerted them that the noises were Campbell disciplining his dog. Campbell's dog is named Dimitri and is a two-year-old male Siberian husky. 

The roommates told the officers of Campbell's discipline towards his dog and stated that "he beat the hell out of him.”

The officers searched the apartment and found Dimitri in Campbell's bedroom, the room smelled off feces and urine, the room was stained with fresh blood on the floor. Dimitri was shaking with blood on his right ear.

Campbell told police that he began to discipline the dog after Dimitri got into his closet and destroyed several items, including a pack of cigarettes. The officers questioned the suspect as to why the dog's ear was bleeding, he replied, “I bit him to establish dominance.”

Patrick Shurod Campbell was arrested and charged with Animal Cruelty, he was booked into jail with a $10,000 bond. Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control took Dimitri.
