On Friday evening, 18th November, three weeks after Haloween someone dressed up in their old gorilla costume and began to scare Brigham Young University students by unexpectedly bursting into their apartment.
The incident occurred at 3rd South, Avonlea Apartments, Rexburg, Idaho. The female residents of the apartment contacted Rexburg police after the man broke into their home and startled them. Rexburg Police Capt. Randy Lewis reported to EastIdahoNews,“They were sitting at home when the gorilla ran through the front door and into the other room, He knocked over a few things before leaving the apartment.”
The Rexburg police investigated the situation and discovered that a similar incident occurred at a male dormitory the previous week but wasn't reported to the police.
Capt. Randy Lewis “We don’t care if it’s a prank or not. We’re taking this serious and the perpetrator could be charged with unlawful entry, you have a big ape tear into your front room out of the blue – you’d be scared too.”
