Shawn Cummins, 22, was staying at Apartment #80 of Portico 1 Villa Apartments, 142 Vernon Ave., Vernon, Connecticut, when police were called to the scene after reports of a gun being fired inside the apartment building.

When the police arrived at the scene they found a highly intoxicated Mr Cummins at the scene, through some investigation the police had found out that Shaun had gone over to a friends house in a nearby apartment to hang out.
Shaun became upset when a person in the bathroom wouldn't get out when he needed to do use the bathroom. Mr Cummins decided to take out his 9mm handgun and fired a shot into the occupied bathroom, it's reported that the bullet just missed the occupant in the bathroom. He then went on to fire a second shot but this one directed towards the outside wall of the apartment.

The police arrested and charged Shaun Cummins with unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a firearm while intoxicated, reckless endangerment, threatening and disorderly conduct. The police also seized a 12-gauge shotgun and a .45 calibre handgun. Shaun Cummins is currently being held on $20,000 bond his trial is due next Monday.
