A town located in the centre of the state of Colorado, Green Mountains Falls, has had four police officials from the 700-person town’s police department hand in their resignation after allegedly being unhappy with the new mayor, Jane Newberry who's been elected to run the town.
The police department was unhappy with new policies enacted by the new mayor. The Chief in charge, Tim Bradley, had decided to quit first, his three deputies working under him had decided to quit alongside their head official in an act of solidarity. Their resignations had been handed in just a day prior to the new mayor stepping into her office.
The townsfolk were informed of their lack of police during a town meeting. The residents were not informed why the police left just that the police had vacated from their positions.
The new mayor has stated that this is nothing to worry about and she will find new police officers to fill their roles as soon as the new budget is put in place.
