
Police officer Matthew Luckhurst has been terminated from the San Antonio Police department in San Antonio, Texas, after his colleagues reported him of giving an excrement-filled sandwich to a homeless man.
Matthew was on a Bike patrol when he had the idea to put a piece of excrement between two slices of bread in a styrofoam container and place it next to a sleeping homeless man.
Matthew bragged in the police department of what he had done to his colleagues , including his partner, the other officers were so disgusted at what they had heard that they reported Matthew, the five-year veteran of the department, to senior officials.
San Antonio Police department conducted an internal investigation of the incident, concluding to the firing of Police officer Matthew Luckhurst.
Since the news has been made public San Antonio Mayor Ivy Taylor has issued a statement.
“Firing this officer was the right thing to do, his actions were a betrayal of every value we have in our community, and he is not representative of our great police force.”
Luckhurst has since hired a lawyer, who told San Antonio Express-News that the story he told his colleagues was a joke, his lawyer was quoted as saying “It didn’t happen,”.
Police officer have since tried to locate the homeless man who was given the sandwich, but have been unsuccessful in their efforts.
