An SUV crashes into a convenience store at a Shell gas station injuring the clerk

Clinton Police Department have recently released footage of a devastating SUV crash into a shell gas station's convenience store, the crash occurred approximately at 6pm on Thursday, September 1st, at 196 East Main St. in Clinton, Connecticut.

 Sgt. Jeremiah Dunn of Clinton Police stated in a press release that the SUV driver,  Christopher Caterino, 64, was making a maneuver and stepped on the wrong pedal, he explained "The vehicle, which was in the parking lot, made a sudden maneuver and we think the operator inadvertently pushed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal,".

The store clerk, a 33-year-old man from Old Saybrook, did suffer injuries in the crash and was treated at Yale-New Haven Hospital.The store clerk has since been recovering from bruises and contusions, received from the crash, at home.

The police gathered that alcohol and drugs were not used by the driver during or before the crash. The driver was cited for reckless driving.
